What types of jobs require an associate in medical billing & coding?

I am going to school for Medical Billing & Coding Certification and I was researching the salaries that are within the USA.. I saw that people make a lot more with an associates degree but I wasn’t able to find jobs online that require a degree. Does anyone know what type of job would require this and is it really neccessary to get a degree in it since its not even required by law to even be certified?

A lot of these jobs don’t “require” that you have the skills, but sometimes they will hire someone with a degree compared to the ones that don’t have degrees. So even if they don’t say that they “require” a degree, I know that a lot of the areas depend on, or request that you have as high as possible in the training area that you can get.
