Ultra Scsi
What’s the diference between SATA, IDE, SCSI, DMA/ATA-100(ULTRA), EIDE, SCA, DMA/ATA-133(ULTRA) Hard Drives?
I though about upgrade the hard drive in my computer for one with a bigger capacity, some how I snooze and no longer recognize the meaning of each interface, i know my computer uses IDE, EIDE isn’t the same?
the most confusing one to me its Sata Hard drives!
Unless you buy a PCI card with the newer interface on it you need to stick to ide/eide type drives. Many of the DMA/ATA-133 drives are supercharged eida drives that might work with your older controller.
If you are not having a speed issue and if the drive is cheaper then eide would be the way to go. I haven’t looked to see if SATA’s are consistently cheaper now. If they are and you want them your going to need a PCI card with SATA on it.
